Grom Camp is Back!

NPC’s Grom (that means “kids” in surf slang) Camp is back! We teach kids grades 2nd-6th to standup paddleboard (SUP). Our programming was designed by our WPA-certified trained staff, several of whom have backgrounds in early childhood education. For five mornings, the enthusiast, talented NPC crew will lead a small group of kids. They will:

  • Learn basic water safety;
  • Learn how to standup paddle, including proper stroke technique, injury prevention, turns, getting off and on the board, and identification of basic equipment;
  • Play water games, enjoy the great outdoors, and much more.

Grom Camp will be held: Mon.- Fri. June 19-23 OR June 26-30; 9 a.m. – noon all five days. Camp takes place at Nashville Paddle Co. on J. Percy Priest Lake.

Learn to paddle now and you’ll have the rest of the summer to spend on the water as a family and participate in our July 29, 2017 Music City SUP and Kayak Race (Grom Camp graduates receive a $10 discount off race registration).

The five-day program is $295. Siblings receive a 10% discount. Registration deadline is June 5.

This is an active, outdoor camp. Kids must know how to swim and be comfortable out of doors. The camp is designed for kids entering 2nd – 6th grade, but exceptions may be made. Students who successfully complete Grom Camp (2016-2017) and have the necessary skills may qualify to take our more advanced Junior SUP Certification Program July 10-14.
